ShindigZ.com has a page on “Bridal shower game and activities” that range from fun to meaningful to plain lame. Some of them I’ve heard of. For example, you can round up a reluctant groom prior to the shower, and bombard him with a series of questions about the bride while pointing a video camera at his face. Then, at the party, you ask all the guests the same questions, play the video, and see who has the most correct answers. I can see how that could be amusing if you ask the right type of questions.
The most lame game, in my opinion, they call “The Mystery Spice Game” and claim it is “always fun.” How do you play? “Before the shower, take the labels off of 10 spice jars and number them. Pass the spices around and have the guests guess what they are by sight and smell – but no tasting! The guest with the most correct answers wins!” Doesn’t sound like all that much fun, an I also fail to see the wedding connection.
A game I’ve heard of but never played, that sounds really fun, goes like this: You buy lots and lots of white toilet paper and scotch tape. The guests break up into groups with one person being the “model” and the others the “designers.” Using only toilet paper and scotch tape, each group has to design a wedding gown, and the bride chooses her favorite.
