Well, married in a barn sounds heavenly to me! It might not be the Ritz Carlton, but weddings in rustic locations have a magic all their own. Barns, old homes, and the great outdoors… with a little help from us, Mother Nature provides us with all the beauty we need!

Here’s a NY wedding that was hosted at the Mount Gulian Historic Site, an 18th-century Dutch Colonial homestead and national historic landmark. The ceremony that took place in a circa-1740 Dutch-style barn. Barrels filled with dahlias and sunflowers were placed near the barn doors. For dessert: pumpkin spice cake filled with cinnamon buttercream! (Brides.com)
Here’s another beautiful, rustic wedding from Green Wedding Shoes. The bride, Patricia, explains: We were married on the property of a beautiful 18th century stone house and the reception was in a 19th century restored barn that was this beautiful shade of red. The whole day had a rustic yet refined feel, which was enhanced by the use of bare farm tables, vintage tableware, and ornate chandeliers hung from the beams of the barn. We used vintage imagery in all of the paper goods, from the invitations to the programs to the coasters. The seating cards were also woven into the theme – each card was strung with an old skeleton key.
This breathtaking wedding shot by Kate Webber, via Style Me Pretty, is as fun as it is romantic and woodsy. The wedding site is Nestledown, a special private retreat in the Santra Cruz mountains. Chinese lanterns, burnt orange highlights, and s’mores toasted around an outdoors fire pit made it an unforgettable evening.
